The PTG M177 Motorsport Cooling System is a serious cooling upgrade for M177-powered AMG models, designed to improve heat management, reduce intake air temperatures, and support more consistent power delivery during spirited driving, track use, and high-performance applications.
One of the major limitations of the factory AMG cooling layout is that the intercooler cooling system and transmission cooling system are connected. As transmission temperatures rise, intake air temperatures can also increase, making it harder for the car to maintain consistent performance under load. The PTG Motorsport Cooling System addresses this issue by separating the transmission cooling circuit from the main charge cooling system.
This system uses a 42mm thick PWR F1 main heat exchanger, offering a major increase in cooling capacity compared to the factory radiator. Unlike many aftermarket cooling upgrades, it comes standard with precision TIG-welded billet aluminum end tanks for durability, strength, and proper fitment.
A dedicated transmission cooling circuit is also added using a high-density 27mm PWR auxiliary transmission cooler with billet end tanks, PTG auxiliary transmission cooler brackets, Brown & Miller fluid transfer hoses, fittings, and required installation hardware.
